Driving impact…

so that family members’ needs are recognised and met

Anchor Point was formed in June 2020 in response to a lack of understanding and support for families after Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Anchor Point exists because families continue to be re-traumatised by their experiences within both health and social care systems and wider society because their needs are often ignored or misunderstood. Despite the decades of research that show why it is important to support families after ABI system wide change has been slow to materialise.

Our strength is in our collective voice of leading experts and strategic influencers. Between us we have a compassionate insight and understanding of the complexity of brain injury and the impact of this on the family. Through our dedication, commitment, and passion we have a unique opportunity to amplify pockets of excellence and be advocates of change by influencing practice, policy and research. We will do this in partnership with existing services, stakeholders, and communities, working together for the benefit of all society.

Anchor Point is a membership organisation with seven working groups and a reporting committee.

We have an open and inclusive membership. We consider someone to be a member if they have signed up to our mailing list and support our vision and mission.

If members want to get more involved they can join a working group. By joining a working group they are making a commitment to the activities of this group and will contribute to achieving the group’s strategic objective.
